The Three Brothers' crushing is shaping for a good return. The Fairy, schooner, leaves for Auckland to-morrow. Friday. The Tokatea manoger reports a strong leader in the Van level, showing gold freely. In the Siege level about 751bs of picked stone were taken out from No. 1 rise, and 251bs of. specimens were also obtained from the right hand branch of No. 2 level. . ' „ The Koyal Oak manager states that nothing of moment has occurred duriug the week. He is nearly on the Tokatea boundary. The lioyal Hotel, belonging to Mr Glover, was -burnt last night; nothing is known as to how the fire originated. The first gentleman who discovered it was a lodger in the house, who upon going up stairs found volumes of flame pouring from the old buildings into the new. Descending the stairs he told a dozen persons that the house was on fire. They thought it a ruse and paid no attention till it was too late. About £150 in cash .was lost, and the lodgers lost everything except what they stood in. The building was insured in the South British for £350, and in the National for £250. The Telegraph and Government offices were in great dan- . ger, and only by great exertion were they saved. Great credit is due to the Telegraph Master and assistants for aid rendered.
