General Notices ]U- E W ZEALAND. GOVERNMENTLIFE INSURANCE. I—The Government Life Insurance Department issues nil desirable forma of Policies. The Payment of every Policy is guaranteed by lite Colony. Participation in Profits is authorised by the Legislature 1o be given to Policy-holders. 2-Premium rates are lower than those of Private Companies. 3—No Policy or Medical Fees charged. 4—All Policies .are non-forfeit-able after one full annual payment to the full extent of thoir Talue, under a *prci,il regulation providing for the continunncc in force of every Policy for the original amount, until the surrendcr-vvilue of the Policy is exhausted in payment of proirdump. 5— Absolute Security from Loss. —Insurers, after having p-iid three full annual premiums, are guaranteed a cash surrender value of not Jess than 40 per cent, of the paid-up premiums ; and if for any reason the premiums pro not pnid when due, a paidup Policy will be issued, generally equal in amount to the premiums paid, and often much in excess; 6—Thirty days of grace are allowed on all Renewal Premiums. * 7—Liberal conditions as to travelling and residence. B—Policies protected from Bankruptcy- —An Insurance Policy effected by the Insured, hsnajide on his own life, is protected from bankruptcy or i^olvency law* to a certain amount, which increases with its duration. Thus, after it has endured for two | years, it is protected to the extent of- £200; I after five year?, to £500; -after seven, ytars, to £1000;' after ten years, to £2000. This protection applies only in favour of the personal representative of the Insured. 9—Married women may effect .Polk cies, dispose* of the money by will, as if single; and their Policies are protected from the debt* of their husbands, according to duration, to amounts similar to those stated above. 10—Settlement Policies.—Policies effected for the benefit of tho wife and children of the Insured are absolutely pro--tected from the claims of creditors to the extent of £2000, provided that the premiums are payable during life, or any period not less than sev«n years. If apportionment is not madeiat the time, it can be subsequently made by will. ' 11—Probate, &c, dispensed with —When a .claim under a Policy does not exceed £200, the Commissioner may dispense with the production of "Probate or Letters t of, Administration,' thus saving great expense to tho representatives of the Insured. 12—Prompt payment of Claims ■ and no discount'eharged.
