General Notices VTEW ZEALAND. GOVERNMENT LIFE INSURANCE. I—The Government Life Instir-' ance Department issues nil desirable forms of Policies. The Payment of every Folicy is guaranteed by tJie Colony. Participation in Profit! is authorised by the Legislature to bo given to Policy-holders, 2- Premium rates are lower than those of Private Companies. 3—No Policy or Medical Fees charged. 4—All Policies are non-forfeit-able after one full annual payment to the full extent of their value, under a special regulation providing for the continuance in force of every Policy for the original amount, until the surrender-value of the Policy is exhausted in payment of premiums. . s—Absolute Security from Loss. —Insurers, after having paid three full annual premiums are guaranteed a cash surrender v»lue of not less 1 than 40 per cent, of the paid-up premiums ; and if for any reason the premiums are not paid when due, a paidup Policy -will be issued, generally equal in amount to the premiums paid, and often much in excess. 6—Thirty days of grace we allowed on all Renewal Premiums. ' 7—Liberal conditions as to travelling and residence. - * B—Policies protected from Bankruptcy:.—An lusurance Policy effected, by the Insured, h&najide on his own life, is protected from bankruptcy or insolvency laws to a certain amount, which' increases with its duration. Thus, after it has endured for two years, it is protected to the extent of £200; after five years, to £500; after seven years, to £1000; after ten years, to £2000. This protection npplies only in "favour of the personal representative of the Insured. 9—Married women may effect Policies, divpose of the money by 'will, as if single; and their .Policies ate protected from the debts of their husbands, according to duration, to amounts similar to those stated above. 10—Settlement Policies.—Policies effected for the benefit of the wife and .children of the Insured are absolutely pro-, tected from the claims of creditors to the extent of £2000, provided that the premiums i are payable during life, or any period not lets , than eeven years. If apportionment is not made at the time, it can be subsequently made by will. - 11-rProbate, &c, dispensed with When a claim under a Policy does hotexceed £200, the Commissioner may dispense with the production of Probate or Letters of Administration, thus saving great expense to the representatives of the Insured. 12—Prompt payment of Claims and no discount charged.
