General Notices VT E W ZEALAND. GOVERNMENT \ LIFE INSURANCE. I—The Government Life Insurance Department issues all desirable forms of Policies. The Payment of every Policy is guaranteed by the Colony. Participation in Profits, is authorised by the Legislature to bo given; to Policy-holders, 2- Premiuni rates are lower than those of Privato-.Gompanies. 3—No Policy or Medical Fees charged. • \T 4—All Policies are non-forfeit-able after one cfull annual payment to the full extent of thoir value, under a special regulation providing for the continuance in force of every Policy for the original amount, until the surrender-value of the Policy is exhausted in payment of premiums. : ~ s—Absolute Security from Loss. —Insurers, after-having paid three' full anrraal premiums, are guaranteed a cash' surrender value of not Jess than 40 per cent, of the paid-up premiums ; and if for any reason the premiums are not paid when due, a paid: up Policy will tie issued, generally equal in amount to the-i premiums paid, and often much in excess..-f 6—Thirty Says of grace are allowed on all Renewal Premiums. 7^-Liberal conditions as to travelling and residence. , B—Policies protected from Bankruptcy. —An Insurance Policy effected by the Insured, lenafide on hia own life, is protected from bankruptcy or insolvency laws to a certain amount, ■which increases with its duration. Thus, after ife has endured for two years, it is protected to the extent of £200 j after five years,, to £500 j after seven years, to £1000; after ten years, to £2000. This protection applies only in favour of the personal representative of the Insured. 9—Married women may effect Policies, dispose:of the money by will, as if single; and their" Policies are : protected from the debts of their husbands, according to duration, to amounts similar to those stated above. 10—Settlement Policies.—Policies effected. for the benefit of the wife and children of the Insured are. absolutely protected from the claims of creditors to the extent of £2000, provided that the premiums are payable during life, or any period not less than seven' years.
