• Mr Seager, of Grrahamstown, is now busy constructing an additional boiler for the shaft engine-house of this company. The boiler will be 30 feet long. 6 feet 6 inches in diameter; * with" tvo'Gre flueg 2 feet 5 inches each ; is composed of the "best imported boiler plate seven-six-teenths thick, with the pieces over the furnace of the celebrated Low Moor iron:; the end plates are half-inch. T,he ..boiler ,will be placed alongside the present one, space being left for it in designing the boiler-house.-. The company will thus be enabled to >work continuously without loss of time in either cleaning or effect;ng repairs, as the one boiler generates steam for alltheir present requirement, 1 or will supply power enough to enable them to sink and raise all the wnter that may be made for a much greater depth than that at present attained.
