THE UNA COMPANY
Have now made a complete start towards taking down the reef intersected in the long tunnel driven by the company <at such great expense. Driving... has been commenced at bqjth ends of the reef, and the horse which" divided it at the point of intersection is gradually narrowing, and will shortly disappear. At the same time it may be stated that gold has been seen in the face frequently. ; When contemplating the amount of work performed in opening up this lower level, it is a niatttr for congratulation that the demand upon the shareholders has not been greater than it has. Wow that the principal object is attained.in cutting the reef, it should not be long before communication is effected .with, the upper level, and measures taken for stoping as well.as driving. In. the meantime, tho tram between the' tunnel and the company's battery will., be pushed; ahead. And,: finally, when rll arrangements are completed for the effective working of the mine, it is hoped and -believed that the Una may be classed in the category of paying companies on the Thames.
