The only work at present being done, in this mine is on tho new lode branching from the main. The manager informs me that during the past few days the reef has widened out, and that gold is plainly visible in the reef. When operations have been extended further in the present direction, the manager will, no doubt, commence to rise on the reef, and stope it out, which would.of .course enable.him to secure a "greater discharge of quartz. Crushing. wijl be commenced at "the beginning of next week —in fact, so soon as pending negotiations for crushing power are completed. . ■,
