Glimpse, from Newcastle, after nine days frun; Emu and Colonist from the Thames. i - .In Banco to-day, Mr Hesketh.applied for and obtained leave. from Judge Gillies- to carry- the .case of Williamson |and Pearce into .the, Court ,of Appeal at Wellington. •* • - = The case now on is Greenwood vr the Crown -Prince. Messrs McCormjck and jLaishly "for the plaintiff; Mr Hesketh ' for defendants. The case, between the Srties was stated in Chambers. Mr cCormick opened plaintiff's argument \ this - morning, and- sued for damages'for \ wrongful striking' off of plaintiff,'s iname and wife's name/ from, the books of the Company, and forfeiting certain shares. Council maintained that the ■ provisions of -the Act. of 1870, which required for a declaration of forfeiture of five days notice of call and conduct i indicating acquiescence on the part:of the I holder of the- shares, had not-been complied with, and argued; that the calls, not 'having been' regularly .made, were not 'legally due. Tho court adjourned at the ' close of the address.
