This day. At a meeting of four hundred Kaipara Natives a petition to the Queen was adopted,-, praying for a continuance of Sir Donald - McLean's services as Native Minister for ever. The Chief who prepared it said he understood it was necessary to petition the Queen in order to keep the Native Minister among them. Two hundred signatures were appended.
