Arrived : City of Cashmere, ship, 91 days from Greenock, with four first-class, and fourteen steerage passengers. She' reports that James Irviite,a «an engaged to attend the stock and cattle,; jumped overboard on February 28. The; ship hove-to, and every effort was made to save him, without avail. _ ' The Eosanna Hose,, schooner, arrived from Boston, U.S.A., 145, days out. , # Thb Maoris at the Kaik are making extensive-preparations for a meeting on the 25th May, when matters of importance relative to certain lands, or the value of them in this province^ will be discussed, ■ and ; a delegate appointed to proceed.to England to lay the mailer -before the imperial Parliament.
