. Tho result of the fortnightly cleaning up for the above, which took place on Saturday, is not favorable, there being only 190 oz3 10 dwts of gold obtained from 800 tons of quartz. It was mentioned during the week in these columns that the show was looking rather poor, but the return was not expected to be so meagre as it has proved. The company have now a good water supply for boiler purposes from the Boundary Creek. Mr Comer made application for permission to appropriate and carry this water to the battery a long time since, and some delay occurred in settling matters happily with the Borough Council. The work is now completed, however, and though the company have incurred large expense thereby, the benefit which must accrue from having a good supply of fresh water for the battery should amply recompense them. In order not in any way to interfere with the comfort: and wants of the people, the company erected standpipes along the line.
