In a little town in Missouri a lady teacher was exercising a class in mental arithmetic. She commenced a question: "If you buy a cow for ten dollars " — when up rose a little hand. "What is it, Johnny ? " " Why, you can't buy no kind of a cow for ten dollars," said Johnny. " Father sold one for sixty dollars the other day, and she was a regular old scrub at that." There is a Cockney youth who, every time he wishes to get a glimpse of his sweetheart, calls out " Fire ! " directly under her window. In the alarm of the moment she then plunges her head out of the window, and inquires, " Where ? " The lover then poetically slaps himself on the bosom, and exclaims, " 'Ere, my Hangelina!"
