A PPLICATION has been made by Fbanois XJL Datkiit for a LICENSE to construct a Water Bate for mining purpoics, commencing at a point on the Creek or River being the first main Creek to the eastward ot the Prospectors' Claim, Tairua, about half-a-xnile abave the southern boundary produced eastward, and terminating at a point above the said Creek or Hirer about half a-mile below the northern boundary of the said claim produced eastward. The length of the said Race being a mile and a-half or thereabouts, and its intended course is northward and eastward. The mean depth of such Race is two feet by one foot. It is capable of carrying fire sluice-heads of water, and the number of sluice-heads, of forty inches each, which it is proposed to appropriate, is fire. NOTICE is therefore given, that on the 27th day of May, 1875, a license will be granted to the said Fbancis Daxkin for the abovedeßcribed Water Race, unless Valid objection be in the meantime made in writing and lodged at this office not less than seven clear days before that date. The, length of ouch race is 500 yards or thereabouts, and its intended course is northward and eastward. The mean breadth and depth of such Race is about 3 feet by 3 feet. It is capable of carrying five sluice-heads of water, and the number of sluice-heads which it is proposed to appropriate is fire.
