Accidental Burning at Ohinemuri.
A correspondent writes :—-An accident of a painful nature happened here on Monday morning about ten o'clock. Mrs Allen was seen rushing out of her house with her clothes on fire. Mr Lipsey, the Herald reporter and others went to the rescue of the woman and quickly tore off her clothes, but not before she was badly burnt on the right hand and both legs. Mrs Power, a neighbor, attended to the sufferer, and subsequently she was seen by a doctor. Her injuries, although painful, are not so serious as was at first feared. It appears that Mrs Allen was doing something at the fireplace on the hearth, when her dress caught fire, and in her fright she ran ouside. If it had been later in the day, it is probable she would have lost her hair, being in the habit of wearing it down. She is now doing: as well as can be expected.
