Only 201bs of specimens were obtained during the week, showing that a dividend is not likely for some time to come; The low level will require driving another 200 feet before the golden lode is in hand— the country being hard. The Times, this morning, severely handles the- Star's Maketu correspondent, for stating that a recent leader on native matters was written by Colonel St. John. It gives the statement an unqualified contradiction.
