PUMPING ASSOCIATION.
As stated some days back, the manager put through the mill a parcel of one ton of quartz from the reef being driven on at the bottom of the shaft. The result of this test is an improvement on former ones, being 5 dwts to the ton. The reef still, maintains the promising character which has distinguished it for some time past, and it is the opinion of many well qualified to judge that the sinking of this shaft will result ia the discovery of payable quartz at levels which have never been reached on the field; since its opening.
