FBIEND j Robert Yule was charged with that he did feloniously steal, take, and carry away one gold Albert chain, with Masonic emblem iattabHed, of the value jof £310s, tho property of one John Thomas Brown, on March 10th, 1875. (Brought up on warrant.) Prisoner pleaded guilty. "Sub-Inspector Bullen stated that prisoner and.,prosecutor.had been fellow passengers from England Jive or six months since, and had resided in the same house in Auckland with a married woman^ who had been also a fellow passenger. Prosecutor had occasion to leave the premises ■ and-prisoner was left behind; On returning, found that the prisoner had gone away, and missed the chain. Communicated with the police, who found that the chain had been pawned by a person amswering to the. description of prisoner, and under the name of William Roberts. Immediately after pawning the chain, he had proceeded to Tauranga where he had

been apprehended, and.brought to the Thames on Saturday last. . In reply to the Bench, prisoner said he was s, sawyer, and had been working at his tiade three weeks since his arrival in the Colony. :; •. . . Elizabeth Leatham was charged with allowing one, cow t6 wander at large in Grey-street, Shortland, on the 17th March. (Impounded). Fined 2s 6d and costs, The Court then adjourned.
