The usual fortnightly meeting "of the Thames Borough. Council- Wa"s: held last night. Present—Crs Anthony, Brown, Macnab, Rowe, Renshaw and Wilson—Cr Eowe in the chair. • -.-■ The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. i ' ';'THE PoVeSHOBE. The Town Clerk stated that he had seen Sir Donald McLean when he was down here with reference to receiving a deputation of the Council about the foreshore, j The Mayor ha& also seen Sir Donald in Auckland, and he had promised to get the foreshore conveyed to the Borough. Council as soon as possible, by having a Bill prepared to submit to the Assembly at next session.

THE STBEET WELLS. In reply to a,letter r irom Messrs Mac? Donald and MilleiV oh behalf of Messrs McCormick, asking payment for certain timber used at the wells in Owen street, it was, de<fide<ffto write; informing the applicants that no money was coming to them, the timber being useles *, and it only having been arranged to pay for it in case the material was useful.

'■'-■■;'•■•■ - COBEESPONDENCE. Several leti ers were read. One from Mr Evans, offering his services as sexton at the Tararu Cemetery. One from Mr Perry called attention to the s ate of the road at the Karaka Rise. It was agreed to put Mr Evans on wages, and Mr Perry's letter was referred to the Works Committee. '

FINANCE. On presentation of the accounts for the fire ladders some conversation ensued, the amount being much larger than was expected, but it was : admitted that the amount would have to be passed. The sum passed for' Fire Brigade account was £80, of which £65 was for the fire ladders.

BEPOExS. -Reports were, received from the Foreman of Works, the Eate Collector, and the Health Officer.

CREEKS AND WATERWORKS. . Some c -nversation took place on the slate of tlio creeks from 'tailings being washed down towai'ds tho seaj and also 011 tho Waterworks. With regard tp the latter the Town Clerk was instructed to write to tho government, asln^/that tlicy be handed over,, and thie Council adjourned. -;': *. '
