i i V E W ZEALAND. GOVERNMENT LIFE INSURANCE. I—The Government Life Insurance Department issues all desirable forms of Policies. T/ie Payment of evert/ Policy is guaranteed by the Colony. Participation in Profits is authorised by. the Legis lature to be given to Policy holders. 2- Premium rates are lower than those of Private Companies. 3—No Policy or Medical Fees charged. 4—All Policies are non-forfeit-able after one full annual payment to the fulll extent of their value, under a special regulation providing for the continuance in force of every Policy for the original amount, until the surrender-Til ue of the Policy is ex hausted in payment of premiums. s—Absolute Security from Loss. —Insurers, after having paid three full annual premiums, are guaranteed a cash surrender ;valu© of not Jess than 40 per cent, of the paid-up premiums; and if for any reason the premiums are not paid when due, a paidup Policy will be issued, generally equal in amoant to the premiums paid, and often much, in excess. €I—Thirty days of grace are allowed on (ill Kenewal Premiums. 7—Liberal conditions as to travelling and residence. 8 -Policies protected from Bank-ruptcy-—'An Insurance Policy effeoted by the Insured, lonajide on bis own life, is protecteid from,bankruptcyor insolvency laws to a certain amount, which increases with its duration. Thus, after it has endured for two yearn, it is protected to the extent of £200; after five years, to £500 j after seven years, to £1000; after ten years, to £2000. This protection applies only in favour of the personal representative of the Insured. 9—Married women may effect Policies, dispose of the money by will, as if single; and their Policies are protected from the debt!! of their husbands, according to duration, to amounts similar to those stated above. 10—Settlement Policies.—Policies effected for the benefit of the wife and children of the Insured are absolutely protected from the claims of creditors to the extent of £2000, provided that the premiums are payable during life, or any period not lets than seven years. If apportionment is not made at the time, it can be subsequently made by will. 11 -Probate, &c, dispensed withS —When a claim under a Policy does not exceed £200, the Commissioner may dispense with bhe production of Probate or Letters of Administration, thus saving great expense to the representatives of the Insured. 12—Prompt payment of Glaims 1 and no discount charged.
