]^EW ZEALAND. GOVEBNMENT LIFE INSURANCE. I—The Government Life Insurance Department issues all desirable forms of Policies. The Payment 6f every Policy is guaranteed ly ihe Cvlony. Participation in Profits is authorised by the Legislature to be given to Policy-holders. 2-Premium rates are lower than theso of Prirato Companies. 3- No Policy or Medical Pees charged. 4—All Policies are non-forfeit-able after one full annual payment to the full extent of their value, under a speciil regulation providing for tho contmuarce in force of every Policy for the original amount, unt?l tho'surrender-v-ilue of the Policy is ex hausted in payment of premiums.
s—Absolute Security from Loss. —Insurers, after having p»id three full annual premiums, are guaranteed a cash surrender value of not less than 40 per cent, of the paid-up premiums ; and if for any reason the premiums are not poid when due, a paidup Policy will he issued, generally equal in amount to the premiums paid, and often much in execs;. 6—Thirty days of grace •» allowed on all Renewal Premiums. 7—Liberal conditions as to travelling and residence. , . B—Policies protected from Bank-ruptCy-T-An Insurance Pojicy. effected by the Insured, honaf.de on his own life, is protected from bankruptcy or insolvency laws to a certuia* amount," which increases with its duration. Thus, affer it has endured for two years,Mtis protected to the extent ©f £200; after fire yearp, to £500; after ee'teti year*, to £1000; after ten years, 1b £2000. This protection upplies only in favour of the personal rejreeentative of the Insured. 9—Married women m»y effect Policies, ditpote of the money by will, cs if single; and thiir Policies are protected from the debts of their husbands* according to duration, to amounts similar to these stated above.
10—Settlement Policies. —Policies effected f<>r_ the benefit of the wife and childr.n of the Insured «re absolutely protected from the claims of creditors to the extent of £2000, providt d that the premiums ore payable during life, or any period not lets than seven years. If apporti >nment is not made at the time, it can be subsequently mnde by will. 11—Probate, &0., dispensed with —When n claim under a Policy does not exceed £200, the Commissioner may dispense with the production of Probate or Letters of Administration, thus saving great expense to the representatives of the Insured. 12—Prompt payment of Claims 1 and no discount charged.
