VT E W ZEALAND. GOVERNMENT LIFE INSURANCE. I—The Government Life Insurance Department issues all desirable forms of Policies. The Payment of every Policy in guaranteed by Hie Colony. Participation in Profits is authorised by the Legis* lature to be given to Policy-holders., 2 - Premium rates are lower than these of Private Companies. 3—No Policy or Medical Pees charged. 4—All Policies, are nbn-forfeit-able after one full annual payment to the lull extent of their value, under a special regulation providing for the continuance in force of every Policy for the original amount, until the. surrender-value of the Policy is exhausted in payment of premiums. s—Absolute Security from Loss. —Insurers, after having piid three full anj nual premiums, aro guaranteed a cash surj render value of not Jess than 40 per cent, of the paid-up premiums ; and if for any reason the.premiurti^re.not paid-when due, a paid* up Policy will be issued, generally equal in amount to the premiums paid, and often much in excess. 6—Thirty days of grace aw allowed on all Eenewal Premiums. 7—Liberal conditions ai to trayelling and residence. .''■ ■ B—Policies protected from Banki ruptcy.—An Insurance Policy effected by the Insured, lonafide on his own life, is protected from bankruptcy or insolvency laws to a certain amount, which increases with its duration. Thus, after it has endured for two years, it is protected to the extent of £200j after, five years, to £500 j after seven yearj, to £1000; after ten years, to £2000. This protection applies only in favour of the personal representative of the Insured. 9~Married women may effeot Itoucies, dispose of the money by will, as if Bingle; and their Policies are protected from the debts of their husbands, according to duration, to amounts similar to those stated above. 10—Settlement Policies.—Policies effected for the benefit of the .-wife and children of the Insured ere absolutely, protected from the claims of creditors to the extent of £2000, provided that'the premiums are payable during life, or any period not le«s than seven years. If apportionment is not made at the time, it can be subsequently made by will. 11—Probate, &c, dispensed with —When a claim under a Policy does not exceed £200, the Commissioner may dispense with the production of Probate or Letters of Administration, thus saving great expense to the representatives of the Insured. 12—Prompt payment of Claims' and no discount charged.
