THE RECEPTION.
The programme for the reception of the- representatives is as follows . — A of gentlemen will proceed Tararii to meet the steamer, and the representatives will then be conveyed in buses to G-rahamstown. The several Tolunteer Companies will muster in their drill-halls previous to the time of the steamer's arrival, and will be put through some preliminary drill. The entire force will then assemble at the railway terminus to receive the visitors. Thence they will be conducted to Parawai to the camping, ground. ■\ The reception will not be confined to the military, in so far, that is, as being present is concerned. It being Saturday afternoon —when most miners knock of work and persons engaged in various occupation parade the streets for an airing —the assemblage of citizens when the representatives arrive will doubtless be large. • All Shortland is very gay, and Pollen street presents quite a festive Appearance, many of the houses being decorated^ and arches of flags are placed across the street. No effort has been spared to make the reception of these representatives a success in every respect.
