There was a littla boy flying a kite this morning in Queen street,in thersry precincts of the Council Chambers where the prohibitory bye-law was made which is intended to reach little people who fly kites in tbe street. Only the elders are allowed to do ihe kitefly iog now-a> days. Rufeeencb is made in a local which appeared in this morning's Advertiser to the candidature of Mr William R>wo. for the office of President of the Thames Hospital. The 'Tiser nays:- 'We hear that Mr Ro we, the President, declines to stand again, so that a new President will hare to be elected." Doubtless in this instance the wish was father to the thought, for Mr Itowe states most positively and distinctly that be has never intimated in any way that he should dec'ine to stand again for the office : it is simply a gratuitous misotatement on the part of the wiifer. The practice ha* become habitual with our contemporary whenever ifc differs with a public man to misrepresent him 'on every possible occasion. It is certainly a very mean practice, but you cannot expect to see figs growing on thistles, any more than you can, even in ibis age of progress in arte and manufactures, expect to see a silk purso produced from the material of whish a sow's ear is composed. It wiil be seen that; Mr Etowe has addressed lo us a letter on this subjeofc.
