EDUCATIONAL MATTERS.
At a meeting of the Board of Education held on Thursday the following business affecting Thames school districts was transacted: —
Parawai. —From Parawai a letter was received objecting to the amalgamation of the Thames district, on acco-.nt of the native scholars at Parawai placing it in an exceptional posi Hon. The Secretary was instructed to acknowledge the receipt of the letter, and draw the attention of the committee to the fact that the matter has been already arranged .—The consideration of a request for £50 to enlarge this school was deferred until next meeting. Kauwaeranga.—Asking for the establishment of a superior school in the district. The secretary was instructed to forward a recommendation from the Board to the committee to confer with the other committees at the Thames upon the sub* ject, as it would be undesirable to have> more than one superior school in the district.
Tababu.—Qon»ideration of the objection to the proposed abolition of the boys' school was deferred till the next meeting.
