The Assembly adopted the Sill subjecting all foreigners born in France to military service in the French army.

General Addison's arrangements for observations of the transit of Venus were most elaborate; all previous computations correct. First contact happened before sunrise, at ten minutes 26 seconds past six ; first internal contact was when the sun was about four or five of his dimmetre above the hor zon, 13 minutes before 7. Second internal contact happened about 25 minutes to 11 a.m.; last external contact, 113 am., when 'he planet quitted the sun, not far from highest point.
