YACHT ACCIDENTS.
An accident occurred in the harbour on Thursday .evening. A party consisting of Messrs Cai-jell and Hollis and two Masters Spencer" had been fishing' in Mr Carpenter's yacht. They were returning —Mr Carneli being at the helm—when a squall capsized the boat, throwing the occupants and their fish (of which they had a quantity, haying been very successful) 7'nto the water. Fortunately all the party could swim, and they very soon got on to the bottom of the boat, from whence they were rescued by a crew from the Lalla Rookh, the accident having been observed and assistance being promptly I*7l--dered. Yesterday m attempt was made: to fetch in the yacht, the cutter Otahuhu havmg been hired for the purpose, but it was found impossible to. get near the capsized 4joat, which still. remains anchored—bottom upwards in the stream. The dingy belonging to Mr Carpenter's yacht was hoisted on to the wharf, and during one of the severe storms yesterday the wind lifted the.dingy andblew it into the water. It has not yet been found. \
