TELEGRAPH NOTICE.

Tbo Steamer Claud Hamilton is expected to leave .Hokitika at noon on Saturday, 19th instant. Telegrams for the Australian Coloniei or Europe (via Java Cable) will be received at this office for transmission to Melbourne up till 3 p.m. of the 19th irast. Telegrams for any place in Victoria, South Australia, Hew South Wales, and. Queensland,' will be received at this office for transmission to the -—— and •will there be posted as an ordinary letter free of postage, to the address given in the jnessage, or will be forwarded to the nearest Telegraph Station in ; : '... .. _— arid telegraphed to its destination; the Australian rates being collected from the receiver. ■The sender will .note in the instructions on „ the message how he wishes his message dealt ...'; with—whether tobe posted as a letter at the final port of departure in New Zealand or to be forwarded from there to the Telegraph Station at the port where the steamer is bound to, and to be telegraphed from thence to its final destination. \ In the fust case, be will write in instructions, if to be t reateclas a letter, " To be posted;" in the latter, if to be telegraphed on arrival in Australia, he will state in instructions "Tobetel^raphed." In the case of Telegrams for Tasmania and Western Australia, the iame can only be - treated as letters, and posted as such from the final port of departure in New Zealand.
