CENTRALISING.
(To the Editor of the Evening Star.)
Sib, —On reading the Advertiser the other day I felt amused to read Mr Porter's letter, for in it I see the germ of disgust very large at the proposal of twenty gentlemen sent to the right about and five to do the work. lam glad Mr Vogel set the people of this' province a good example. When we get rid of the Provincial gentlemen and the education, the next I should like to see would be a reduction in those worthy J.P.'g on the bench, for all the use or ornament they are, I hope Mr Vogel will carry out the principle in the new order of things, and put a stop on the system of dividing a small district like the Thames in so many highway boards, so we will get rid of another lot of gentlemen, and not hare so many officers and no soldiers. Query—What will all our local talent do then? Sharebroking wont do. Send them to Ohinemuri as a deputation to MweEuru. OSSXBTBB.
