Ah accident happened on the upper portion of the Tararu Creek tramway yesterday, resulting in the loss of a valuable horse belonging to Mr Gillespie. The borsa was attached to a truck laden with tlabs, and in coming round one of the sharp curves of the line the truck went over pulling the borso with it. In the fall, which was considerable, tbe bone bad bis leg broken and was badly bruited besides. Some time ago Mr Gillespie refused £80 for the horse, and the loss is heavy upon him ss ha has been working the line at a considerable sacrifice owing to the almost total cessation of mining in the district.
Tomoeeow evening the amateurs who performed bo successfully for tbe Cricket Club will give an entertainment for the funds of the Thames Haval and Thames Bowing Oluba. The performance will be under popular local patronage; and tbe programme will embrace many entertaining features.
