pany for the convenience of those going to the gardens atTararu, and a number of holiday makers took advantage of tbis means of conveyance to the scene of rural festivity, while other crowds departed per 'bus and carriage and on foot, the latter mode of travelling being chiefly indulged in during the morning, as tbe sun's rays were rather too powerful in the noon part of the day to permit of it being agreeable or even tolerable A number of children took advantage of the occasion, and the display of light summer goods which encased the fair forms of ladies innumerable was very striking.
