The processional demonstration of the Oddfellows was a great feature of the day. That body mustered in capital strength, and being in regalia formed a goodly show. They numbered about ninety in all, and at the appointed hour marched thence to Grahamstown, accompanied by the Scottish Band, who some admirable selections on the road. Arrived in Grahamstown, they were met by the members «f the Charles Bruce Lodge, who formed a line in Queen street, and the two bodies then coalesced, after performing the ceremony of salute peculiar to the order, and then proceeded to Tararu in one line, marching in a file of two. The Charles Bruce numbered about 40, so the attendance of members, taking the two lodges together, was very good. There were ample means afforded for the amusement of the many persons who paid a visit to the gardens, dancing to the sweet strains of the Scottish band being one of the most popular.
