Mr Edwin Binnet, of the City Auction Mart, reports as follows: — Business shows no signs of improvement, the trade showing no speculation in acy line ; the consequence is prices remain without alteration. Markets are very barely supplied, and v firm tone is exhibited by importers. Maize is scarce, and, owing to the large prices ruling in Sydney, remains firnr. With that exception pricos may be requoted as last week :— Southern flour (according to brand) £13 to £14 per ton in sncks, 10s extra for 50 and 1001b bagß; Californiaa, superior lample, £16 per ton ; Adelaide (town brand), £17-^no charge for lag on above; maize, 6s 6d ; oats, 6s to 6* 3d ; barky, 4s 9d to 5s ; bran, -Is 6d ; pollard, £8 ; barley dust, £8 per ton : whrat", 5s 6d to 6s ; oatmeal, 265; pearl barley, 2fis; jams, 7s 6i to 7s 9d; tart fruits, 10s. The above quotations are all subject to freight from Auckland added.
