John Sergeant was brought up on remand from yesterday, charged with having been drunk and incapable. When defendant was charged yesterday he was in a "very bad state, haying beeu "on the.spree" for a considerable time, and he was sent back to the watchhouse for medical examination.

Mr Bullen said defendant had been examined, and his state was pronounced to be very bad. He asked to withdraw the charge that the man might be sent to the Hospital. Defendant was discharged, and taken to the Hospital.
