Prince of Wales' Birthday.
No holiday was ever gladdened with a brighter day than this, and all pleasureseekers were up at an early hour this morning to make the most of it. The town wore quite a gay appearance at times, while occasionally it became possessed of a deserted aspect, the which was owing. to the gatherings at certain quarters, to immediately disperse for the respective scenes of all the fun, namely— Parawai and Tararu. The Scottish Band assembled afc the junction of Brown and Albert streets, and thence marched to the Gardens at Parawai, discoursing sweet music by the way. The children of the Waiotabi Creek School proceeded to Tararu, accompanied by, a number of those gentlemen taking an interest in educational matters. A. number of holiday-making people of both sexes also journeyed in the same direction by rail and by'bus.
