ACADEMY OF MUSIC.
This evening an amateur performance will be given at the above favorite place cf amusement in aid of the funds of the Thames Cricket Club. The well-known farce of "Betsy Baker" will be the introductory piece, to be followed by a musical melange; after which will be produced the burlesque of " Lord Lovel," depicting the loves, trials and ending of Lord Lovel and Lady Kancy in dolorous numbers. Miss Laura Wiseman has very kindly given her valuable services to assist the promoters of the entertainment, and it is confidently expected that the performance will be well sustained and liberally patronised. Amateur performances have not been very•frequent of late, and this one is expected to b@ above the average. Besides, the objectpromotion of the national game of cricket —will, it is thought, secure a success in point of numbers.
