Buyers generally look for produce to be lower at this tiiß» of the year, as tk» harvest ap>proJtckes, but'tke continued stream of immigration has caused euqh a large incroaseJn consumption that we may really look for a firmar ton* in all descriptions of goods ; and furthermore, we may look for a greater scarcity thin ;f c even experieiicfe at present, for it is imposiible for the importer to pay the prices quoted down South, and sell at our quotations, say—Flour in, sacks, £1,4, lOQ4 and 50i, £14 10i to £15 ; pats, 5s 9d to 6s; barley, 5s 6d to 5s 9d ; oran. Is 9d to 2s ; pollard, £10; hams and bacon, in cloth, Is. cheeie, 8^ te 9d ; salt butter, none in the market; potatoes arc-in constant domand, and have moved off a fair parcel during the week at £10 10* to £11.
