No official return of: the .results has been received, but. Mr. Kennan the other day had. a telegram from a fjie^A-o^s his-^Mr.. George Reed— which stated'thit the parcel of tailings treated at the New North Chines had yielded at the rat©3,o?! 2 ©unceg 2dwts ( .gpld to the ton. Mr. Eeed obtained.; this irijpirmation while in the neighbourhood of Glunes, and at onco telegraphed - it. If =(he; official report' of results should be equally favorable from the several works at which the tailings have been treated, it is more ■than probable, we learn, that work* wiltbe started here in connection witli the Bright Smile mine and battery fo treat the tailings in the most approved way.
