Auckland, Monday.

A deputation, consisting of Mr. Howe, Mr. Brodic, Mr. Errington, Mr. Masters, aud Mr. Camming, accompanied by Mr. T. iJussell, waited on the Superintendent to-day, and pointed out the position of. the Thames in reference to coal supply. Various local matters, especially the foreshore and endowments, were discussed. The Superintendent agreed to take immediate steps to extend the Grahatnstown Goods "Wharf about 500 or 600 feet pending a permanent scheme of harbour works.

The Superintendent and Provincial Secretary, accompanied by Mr. Holloway, the delegate of tho Agricultural Labourer's Union, proceed to the Thame* on Thursday, when several matters will be arranged.

Mr. Rowe and Mr. Brodio afterwards had a satisfactory interview with the Superintendent about highway matters, which also will be further considered during the Thames visit.
