HIBERNIAN CATHOLIC BENEFIT SOCIETY.
ANNUAL CELEBRATION
The members of the above Societycommenced the proceedings for the commemoration of their anniversary by a processional march to St. Francii' Church yesterday. The members assembled at the Hibernian Hall, arrayed in the handBorne regalia of the order, at half-past ten o'clock. At the appointed hour the the whole body formed in procession, and marched to churi?h,>' headed by the band of the Society.- Mr. O'Connor has been very successful in training this band, which was- forjmed not very long ago in pointoffact, and has succeeded in bringing it to a condition of efficiency which was scarcely to be expected. The procession numbered about 90 members, exclusive of of the band,' and a crowd of spectators had gathered'to witnesa the turn. out. After Church, tho members again formed a line and marched back to the Hall, outside: of which'the band played for some time. The celebration will be continued this evening by an entertainment; which is advertised to take place at the Academy of Music; Dancing is announred to commence at nine o'clock. Every effort has been made to render the affair a success
by thoso into whose hands the steward- -. ship has been placed, and it may be reasonably expected that a most enjoyable evening will be spent."
