NORTHEY'S TRIBUTE.

A crushing of 55 tons of stone was completed yesterday for the abov.e tribute, and which fully came up to the yield from previous crushings. The verdict from the 5b tons put through was 178 ounces 10 dwts. of gold. On enquiry I ascertained that the tribute ground has been nearly worked out; at least, at the level it has been let to the present party. They will have about three more crushings of a similar tonnage, in taking out which they will, in all probability, cut out to surface. This party (Northey and Co.) have been fortunate in their undertaking, and they deserved it, as I have not heard of one single growl during the whole time of holding.
