This company have ejßTecied communication with the Manutau workings ott the jS"o. 3 reef. It is about 18 inches thick, but in the roof of the drive has every appearance of making larger upwards. Oh No. 4, or the bla6k reef,'the manager 1 commenced to rise, and it shows a body of stone averaging two feet in thickness, impregnated with copper pyrites and a little gold. By Monday operations will be in full swing for getting out stone, and trial lots* from both mines will be crushed.
