Miss May has irade a tour of the principal cities of New Zealadd, in each of which she has been paid a similar complimont. Circuit Courts in Christ-, church, Nelson, Hokitika, and Napier. Otjb worthy Resident Magistrate delivered n judicial castigation to a gentleman in Court this morning. Capt. Butt was one of those who was brought to the Court to answer a ; charge of having neglected to vaccinate an infant of which he was the parent. He wag fined 5s and cyst. When departing ho was henrd to murmur something, which in reality was a harmless'andj,lnoffensivo murmur, but which nevertheless gave the impression that he (the mulcted one) was totally dissatisfied with the judgment given, and rather doubtful ai to its justice. His Worship asked Captain Butt what he hnd Raid; and Captain Butt answered "nothing." A short and sharp rebuke was then delivered from the seat of justice, for this disrespectful manner of treating the Court.
