THE ALBURNIA.
The mina is reported ai looking well. An arrangement that was pending between the Alburnia^ Old Tyhau and Black Angol companies for the purchase of a right for the Alburnia Go. to use the Whau and Angel tunnel, has, unfortunately, fallen through, I understand that the Alburnia were to hare paid the Whau £500 and the Black Angel £200 for part of th^». tunnel, right. This would hare given the Alburnia splendid : backs and drainage, arid any inconvenience arising from three companies trucking fepna on c tunnel could have been easily avoided by!, .turnouts. The Alburnia stuff would, jsertainly be-tippedat a much lower level than their; battery, *but I dbn't think they; Would lose much if they r.ever got steam up again in rtheir own mill,, for the > water is Very bad and fuel very dear.
