THE WATCHMAN.

In this mine a rise is being put up on the Daughter of Freedom reef from the bottom for the purpose of testing a block of ground under the level of the Shooting Star ground. The works being carried on in this mine are mostly prospecting, and it will take some time to bring them into tangible shape. The mine manager, Mr. Wm. Goldsworthy, is using every effort to bring this work to a payable bearing, and is in great hopes of bringing the company's works to a favorable result.
