RUBY GOLDMINING COMPANY.

The half-yearly meeting of the above company was held at the GoTernor Bowea

Hotel at eleven o'clock this morning— Mr. A. Anthony in the chair. There were present besides—Messrs Crawford, Horsbrugh, Jones, Kneebone, Murray and Walker; Mr.D. Gr. Macdonnell,legal manager. There being the required number of shareholders present to represent a majority of sharehold«rs and shares, the business was proceeded with. The manager read the minutes of last meeting, directors' report, the surveyor's report, the mine manager's report,and the balance sheet. On th» motion of Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Horsbrugh the directors' report and balance sheet were adopted. Mr Jones proposed that Messrs Earl, Newman, Dv Moulin, Leek, and J. W. Walker bo elected directors for the ensuing half year. Mr. Horsbrugh seconded, and the motion was carried. A vote of thanks to the retiring directors was carried, on the motion of Mr. Murray, seconded by Mr. J. W. Walker ; Mr. Murray observing that very often when companies were not on gold directors had a great deal to put up with, and had to devote a lot of time to the business of the company. A vote of thanks to, and confidence in the legal manager for the manner in which he had conducted the business of the company was passed on the proposition of Mr/Horsbrugb, seconded by Mr. H. R. Jones. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the business.

Directors' Ueport: The report showed that the receipts for the past half-year were £1183 5s 9d ; disbursements for the same period £1024 4s 6d; balance in bank on 30th June, £153 7s 9d ; cash in hand, £5 13s 6d, making a a total of cash assets of £159 Is 3d, which with unpaid calls at same date amounting to £84 2s, give a total asset of £243 3s 3d, exclusive of uncalled capital amounting to £1995, as against a liability al same date of £27 8s lid. The Surveyor's and Mine Manager'i reports referred principally to the works wnich. had been carried out during the past half-year, and works now in progress.
