THE WAIOMO.
On Saturday last I reported things as being"very dull,in the Waiomo district. I am quite content to qualify that-state--ment for this morning I was informed that a Mr. Heed during last week discovered a reef in the Waiomo district bearing gold. So far as I can learn,' the reef is situate beyond Mr. Bleagard's company's working, and has not the slightest relation to the that party sought for. .My informant was naturally reti-i----cent as' to the locality of the newly discovered lode, but that' is pardonable, as certain legal preliminaries ara not yefc completed as to tenure. I ascertained, however, that the reef was three feet thick were uncovered ; and as uncovering a reef means stripping an out crop, the stone "must show out at surfuee. ' I have for a long time throught it strange that no gold-bearing veins Lad been disbetween the Thames proper-and Tapo, ami still think that no district offers better opportunities for a prospecting party. In fact, it wants, in digging parlance, a good rushing.
