, THIS DAT. ; (Before J. Kilgue and H. Goldsmith, '-. Esqs., J's.P.) BREACH OF THE MERCANTILE MARINE ACT. ' Frederick Peterson,' Wm. Jarvis, John Tollerson and David Kamsay /were charged with wilful disobedience to the lawful commands of John Stephen, master of the brig Drover, lying near Grahamstown. ; Mr. Macdonald for the complainiuit; Mr. Tyler for the defendants. Mr. Macdonald, on the part of the prosecution, said that in consequence of an ■■ understanding with Mr. Tyler he would withdraw the case. The case was dismissed. ■-.- '■ . ■■ DRUNKENNESS. Francis McCam was charged with being drunk and incapablci in Pollenstreet. Fined 10s and costs. Benjamin Lowe was charged with being drunk and incapable in Albert-street. Fined 10s and costs, or 24 hours. ■■;■- ASSAULTING THE POLICE, Francis McOam was charged with assaulting Constable Furlong by kicking him on the legs while in the execution of his duty. Defendant pleaded guilty. Constable Furlong, sworn, said—l arrested the prisoner in Albert yesterday. His clothes were much disordered. He was sitting in the middle of the street. He kicked me severely and was very violent. ; .•;•> Sergeant Elliott stated that the accused was very violent when brought to the station.. - ; , Sentenced to one week's imprisonment with hard labor. TRANSFER Off LICENSE. William Cole applied for the transfer of the license of the Saracen's Head Hotel, Shortland, to John Wilson. Sergeant Elliott objected to the trans- 1 fer of the license, the house not being furnished. . : Application adjourned for two days. The Court adjourned. *
