THE CURE.

An entire change has come, over the appearance of the leader reported in the last notice of this mine. As was anticipated, a t the back of ihe lode cut stone has been found precisely the same in appearance as that from the Manukau. It is of the same gravity and has the same black look, and contains the metals surely indicative of gold in all the mines in the neighborhood of the ;Mauufcau; claim. The lode was this morning holed through and proved to be about 2ft. 6in. thick. Some sandstone was cut into, forming what appeared to be a footwall, but on applying a pick to it I am of opinion that it is too soft and sandy to be a wall; it seems more like a horse dividing two strong leaders. I saw no gold—possibly in consequence of the'shot just dischaged blackening stone. . ,
