Coromandeli, Saturday. The Union Beach has holed through No. 2 winze into the low level. Stone from the stopes is accumulating quickly itt the paddock. Dr. Kidd is appointed Editor of the Mail. That paper this morning publishes in its obituary notices a report of the death of John King, at GrabamstowQ, on the 23rd inst. Very strong feeling of indignation expreseed here at the outrage. _l
The alleged lunatic was remanded until Monday. The doctors still disagree in opinion. He is walking about with his friends, conversing sensibly. This day. The City of Auckland commenced a trial crushing of 100 tons at Bennett's battery to-day. Magistrates have remanded McCarthy, charged with lunacy, for further medical examination at Auckland.
Mr Cadman lakes the chair at the representation meeting to-night. The Tokatea clique give W. Home a supper on Wednesday, at Boyd's Hotel, in acknowledgment of his services at the Revision Oourt in disfranchising Cadman and King.
