In Black Hank township, Grundy County, Indiana, two prepossessing girl graduates, aged 22 ana 20, are practising medicine, and the number of young men on the sick list is really astonishing. - . _ This is how an American,paper notices an arrival at a hotel:—" The Hon. O. E. Gorham, a distinguished Hoosier, is making hayoc among the toothpicks at the Gault-house."
Here is another awful example for the anti-tobacco men. At Columbus, Ohio, a bank robber had successfully broken andentered, when he couldn't resist the temptation of taking a pinch of snuff. His sneeze betrayed his presence; and they don't allow snuff in the penitentiary, either.
A cynical writer says : "Take a company of boys chasing butterflies; put long-tailed coats on the ooys, and turn the butterflies into guineas, and you have a beautiful panorama of the world/
